Director, screenwriter and producer.

I was born in Lima into a Swiss-Italian family, raised in Chicago, and currently reside in Buenos Aires. I studied at the Universidad del Cine, and also took courses in acting and economics. I work as a director, screenwriter, and producer of fiction and documentary projects. My films have been screened at festivals such as Venice, Locarno, Mar del Plata, BAFICI, Karlovy Vary, Warsaw, Havana, Huelva, among others. I also have extensive experience directing music videos and commercials.

My first short film, Alma Zen (1996), was part of Historias Breves 2 and participated in 25 festivals, winning awards in Spain, Brazil, and Argentina.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, I directed music videos for artists like Spinetta, Vicentico, Divididos, and Catupecu Machu. Awards include Best MTV Latino Video (2001), Rolling Stone Magazine (2001, 2003), Clarín’s ‘Sí’ (2000, 2001), and Página 12’s ‘No’ (2000).

In the early 2000s, I began working as a director of commercials in Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, and the USA. Awards include Clio, Telly, Ibero-American Ojo, FIAPF, San Sebastián, Golden Tooth, APAP, Berlin Viral, and Luces.

My short film La Semilla (2004) won the Telefé Cortos National Contest.

Bosques (2005), a medium-length film shot with a minimal crew and co-directed with José Campusano, premiered at the Locarno Festival.

Chicha tu Madre (2006), my feature film debut, is a dramatic comedy shot in Lima and co-produced with Burman & Dubcovsky (Argentina). It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and was seen by over 160,000 viewers in Peru.

Misión La Paz (2007), a documentary film shot on the Argentina-Paraguay border, and Gente Grande (2009), a 13-episode documentary series, are both original productions for Canal Encuentro (Argentina).

In 2013, I founded Planta Madre Cine in Peru to produce my next feature film: Planta Madre (2015). Co-written with Lucía Puenzo and Leonel D’Agostino, it was filmed in the Peruvian Amazon and Buenos Aires. Co-produced with Historias Cinematográficas (Argentina) and Alba Prduzioni (Italy), it won an award from Istituto Luce-Cineccità and premiered at BAFICI.

Through Planta Madre Cine, I produced the Peruvian unit of the Netflix original documentary series about Spanish-language rock, Rompan Todo (2020), produced by Red Creek Productions.

As a screenwriter, I co-wrote the Netflix original feature film Vilas, serás lo que debas ser o no serás nada (2020) by Matías Gueilburt, and La Fiesta Silenciosa (2020) by Diego Fried.

Encintados (2022), my third feature film, was co-produced by Planta Madre Cine (Peru), AZ Films (Argentina), FAM (Argentina), and Movistar (Peru). Shot in Cusco, Lima, and Buenos Aires, it’s a romantic comedy about new family models that sparked controversy upon its release.

GPNK, el camino del gas (2023) is a medium-length documentary film about the human team that built a monumental infrastructure project in Argentina. It premiered at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.
